Five Senses

Good Afternoon Parents,

We have been learning about the five senses and how to use them as tools of observation. The five senses are included in our science TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). With the following internet sites your child will be able to practice the identification of our five senses.

Christmas time is the best time to use our five senses! At the Christmas Bear and His Five Senses site, you can follow along with your child as an animated story is told. This story is about a young boy that teaches 'Christmas Bear' how to use his five senses during the Christmas season. This site provides an audio lesson as well as the text lesson for the story.

Fun and interesting books! At the Senses Books site, there is a list of books about the five senses. These books would be great books for bedtime stories.

At the Sense-Ational site, your child will click on an object and place it over to the correct sensory organ. This site would benefit the student's learning of what object can be identified by using the five senses.

At the Funny Faces site, your child can review the learning of the five senses. The children can make a funny face on a pumpkin and at the same time they can call our the five senses and their uses.
